I was shocked when my friend told me I couldn’t go to his wedding.

The wedding of our friend Tom was very small, which made my wife and I very happy. However, the evening took a strange turn when we decided to order pizza when the table ran out of food.

What began as a funny solution turned into a serious one that made us think about our relationships and deeds.

As we enjoyed the ceremony and celebration, we saw that some guests were going through the buffet quickly, leaving little for others. When it was our turn, we found leftovers, which made everyone angry and hungry.

To try to make things better, we joked about getting pizza, which ended up happening. We shared with tables close, but we didn’t notice that other tables were getting more and more annoyed.

When Linda’s dad came in, he was mad that we hadn’t split the pizza, and the room became tense. Tom told us to leave because Linda was mad and her dad felt like he was being ignored.

We were angry and hurt when we left, but Tom called a few days later to say sorry. When they told Linda and her family what was going on, they realised there had been a major mistake with the food.

And to make things right, Linda’s dad threw a “After Wedding Shindig” with lots of food, drinks, and fun things to do. When I thought back on it, I saw that the lack of food had caused more trouble than anyone had thought, but it also led to a plan for something better that would be even better than the event itself.

We learnt from the experience that even when things are bad, there is usually a good outcome that makes things better and builds relationships stronger.
